- Worked individually as 2 regular overlaying straight stitches

- Stitched obliquely one over another

- Used in: Dressmaking, Embroidery, Tailoring, Tapestry/Canvas work, Rug making

- Often used for marking lettering & numbers, reinforcing edges, temporary stitching during making
